Hamra has been described as “probably the most remarkable specimen of primeval forest remaining in all of Sweden”. Established in 1909, it was one of the first national parks in Europe. Surrounded by vast areas of clearcuts and plantations, the park represents a fragment of the original landscape. From the 2011 book “Hamra national park-urskog i myrland”, with text by Anna Froster. An assignment from the Swedish environmental protection agency.
Hamra, Sweden 2009-2010.
